marine paint and varnish remover is a technically advanced, safer
marine remover designed to remove multiple layers of marine anti-fouling,
top-side and other paints and varnishes in one application. Aqua
Strip heavy duty marine paint and varnish remover will not damage
the gel coat or any surface. Aqua Strip heavy duty marine paint
and varnish remover stays wet for extended periods of time to penetrate
and lift bottom layers, also making it possible to strip larger
areas at one time. It is environmentally safe, biodegradable, non-flammable,
non-combustible and contains no methylene chloride or caustic. Aqua
Strip heavy duty marine paint and varnish remover is odor-free and
can be easily cleaned up with water. As a paste it clings easily
to vertical surfaces. For application, it can be brushed, rolled

Hints |
|
Aqua-Strip heavy duty
marine paint and varnish remover. If Aqua-Strip biodegradable
paint remover is applied too thinly, left on too long, or
due to excessive heat conditions, the applied area is difficult
to scrape, try the following:
|
 |
Mist the applied area
with Ready Strip Wash paint remover clean-up, wait 5-15
minutes and remove.
|
 |
Reapply Aqua Strip
heavy duty marine paint and varnish remover over itself,
wait 15 to 30 minutes and remove.
|
 |
If neither choice
above works, scrape off product and reapply.
|
|
|
|
Since it is
often hard to know the type or the amount of paint on a
surface, a small test area should be stripped to determine
the proper application and dwell time needed for paint removal.

Aqua Strip heavy duty marine paint
and varnish remover is applied to the surface at a total of approximately
1/32' thick (30 mils) with a brush, roller, putty knife or sprayer.
Can be sprayed effectively using an airless sprayer DRILL MIX BEFORE
SPRAYING - REMOVE FILTERS FROM SPRAYER & GUN (Use at least a 1 GPM
piston sprayer, .019 - .021 spray tip). A wet mil gauge should
be used to measure thickness. Use a wide putty knife to lift
the paint off broad surfaces or a stiff bristle brush for detailed
areas. Use a stiff bristle brush or stripping pad with Ready Strip
Wash paint remover clean-up to remove any residue. For best
results apply at temps between 60° F and 80° F. Product activity
is reduced below a temp. of 60° F and may require additional dwell
time. If product freezes let thaw and stir vigorously until product
is consistent. Coverage varies between 50 and 75 sq ft. per gal.
No Neutralization required. Clean-up with water. Any residue should
be removed in a short period of time. Misting the applied area with
Ready Strip Wash paint remover clean-up prior to removal makes lifting
of the paint easier. Misting also reactivates the product if it
feels dry.

When you are removing bottom paint,
but do not wish to remove the epoxy bottom coat, care should be
taken to remove Aqua Strip heavy duty marine paint and varnish remover
and the bottom paint before it penetrates the epoxy barrier coat.
A test area will determine the proper dwell and removal time.
Boats whose gel-coats show excessive wear or deterioration may be
affected by some paint removal. Do a test to determine acceptability.
Use Lift-n-Strip marine as an alternative.

Safety goggles are recommended
for eye protection. Protective gloves such as butyl rubber, neoprene
gloves are also recommended. Maintain adequate ventilation especially
in confined areas. If spraying or misting is expected use NIOSH
approved chemical cartridge (organic vapor) respiratory equipment
(full face respirator recommended). In case of inhalation - remove
victim to fresh air and provide oxygen if breathing is difficult.
In case of eye contact - flush exposed areas with large quantities
of water. In case of skin contact - wash skin with soap and water.
Use emollient skin creams. In case of ingestion - do not induce
vomiting. Call physician immediately.
