Ready Strip Pro paint

one application. The revolutionary "Color Change" feature signals the
time for paint removal. The remover is applied to the surface and turns
off-white when the paint or varnish is ready to be removed. Ready Strip
Pro paint remover professional strength is biodegradable, non-flammable,
virtually odorless and can be cleaned up with water. It contains no
methylene chloride, caustic, harsh chemicals or harmful vapors like many
conventional removers. Ready Strip Pro paint remover professional
strength avoids the uncertainty associated with other removers that are
ineffective if removed too soon, or dry out and not work if left on too
long. Ready Strip Pro paint remover professional strength not only
eliminates the guesswork and is safer to use, but will strip 5-10 times
more paint than conventional liquid paint removers. Unlike other
removers, Ready Strip Pro paint remover professional strength is a

Ready Strip Pro - Performance
Information
|
|

Our test
boards had 15 painted layers.
|
What's on
the boards?
2 layers latex primer (white)
2 layers oil base Rust Oleum (pink)
2 layers latex (blue)
2 layers latex (yellow)
1 layer latex Krylon (purple)
2 layers oil base Rust Oleum (pink)
2 layers latex (dark blue)
2 layers latex (white)
Observations during use:
We applied Ready Strip Pro to our test board in a temperature controlled
environment. The product had a very spreadable consistency with little
to no odor. After 24 hours visible lifting could be observed. Our sample
board was sprayed with Ready Strip Wash paint remover cleanup about one
hour ahead of paint removal to reactivate the product.
Recommendations for Ready Strip Pro:
Lifting with the Dura-Soft tool was generally easy barring the tackiness
of the underneath layers. We did not try to scrape off extra coatings
but could have easily done so. Eight layers were removed pretty easily
and we were quite happy with those results. Ready Strip Pro is a step up
from the Ready Strip Plus product and readily worth the extra $6 charge.
Its semi-firm consistency should still do well on most vertical
surfaces.

Apply Ready Strip Pro paint remover
professional strength liberally to the surface with a brush, medium
sized nap paint roller, or putty knife so that the remover completely
"masks" or covers the color of the surface to be stripped.
Do not attempt to brush out too thin like a coat of paint. It
covers approximately 50 sq. ft. per gallon. Apply at temperatures
between 60° F and 80° F. When the remover turns off-white it may form an
eggshell like skin to lock in the stripping action. Misting the area to
be removed with After-Strip paint remover wash prior to actual removal
will soften the skin and make lifting of the paint or varnish easier.
After the remover has turned off-white use a stiff putty knife to lift
paint from flat surfaces or a stiff bristle brush for detailed areas.
After initial lifting, use a nylon bristle brush or stripping pad to
scrub surface. The time the remover takes to turn off-white may vary
depending upon the type and amount of paint, the surface and
temperature. Typical color change usually occurs within 4 - 24
hours. Paint or varnish removal may take place prior to the Color
Change, although the
Color Change will indicate the end of stripping action. Apply Ready
Strip Wash paint remover clean-up for final clean up of residue. Surface
should be completely dry before repainting. No need to neutralize (acid
wash) surface. Clean tools promptly after use with soap and water.

The softened paint/varnish may remain
moist under the eggshell skin for several days for easy removal.
However, on exterior surfaces, due to the potential for higher
temperatures and direct sunlight, the paint should be removed shortly
after "Color Change' to prevent the remover from drying out.
|
Rubber gloves and safety glasses are
recommended. Avoid eye contact. If eye contact occurs immediately flush
with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Avoid prolonged and repeated
contact with skin. If skin contact occurs, wash with soap and water.
Maintain adequate ventilation especially in confined areas. If spraying
is expected use NIOSH approved chemical cartridge (organic vapor)
respirators. If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Give 1 or 2 glasses of
water and call a physician immediately.
